What have you done to your XS today?

. As I said, the employees were looking for a job when they got that one.

The argument could be used.............if you build a factory in a low social economic area with low employment then the workers are easy to exploit.

Similar to over here. The big supermarkets have gov't approval to pay less than Gov't mandated award minimum wages and conditions due their large market share of employees

Huh? Oh, points and cost.. but the rest! OOPS! I'll fix it. Wasn't important! Hahaha Sorry gggGary!

Back to subject...I took the SG out for a run to release some stress. Went out to Sahuarita Highway to the Sonoita Highway to the roadstop with the view of the Santa Rita Mt. Couldn't stay long because of a appointment in the afternoon. Otherwise I would have taken a loonger way home....

Well, it's not about what I've done to me XS today:offtopic:

It's about what will be an easier job next time:

The chain pliers have arrived and I'm well pleased with 'em.

'78 Special Mockup
(Yeah, the seat's got to go)
Four and a half years ago we were driving back from Florida and stopped at Pandemonium in Defiance to personally import a set a Ya Momma pipes.
Today bolted them a bbk motor in a Special frame so that more pieces were in one place for my move. I've been saving that tank for this project too and am glad it looks right.
I will switch the seat out for a standard spare I have, that one is too lumpy.
Prolly won't get back to this till year end but I like the promise of it.

That’s gonna be a good looking bike! But those pipes, Pandemonium indeed! :D

These young hooligans are scaring my cows! “

Back to work. I ordered an LED tail and stop combo, white so I would have the tag lite. Also ordered the GS-100A strobe controller like Jim has.
The bulbs came in. ( not the controller)

I decided to put one in and see how she goes.
That sucker is BRIGHT! It may look white in the pix with the lens on but it's red! Problem is it's so bright when you hit the brake it dims a bit and back to bright. Let off the brake and dims and back to bright. 4 for $10 bucks. All four do the same thing. Tail is so bright you can't tell the difference when you hit the brake except for the dimming flicker. Bummer!

I'll bet that when you add the strobe controller, you won't notice the flicker.

Hey Jim. No, It's not the flicker. I want to see it go from dimmer to brighter. Not bright, dim down a sec and go just as bright. BTW, is there a better aftermarket tail light lens than Mike offers? Damn crack city.

I throw enough money at it I'll get something that works.
Yes, JMM. I used clear RTV on the tips of the screws and a bit under the plastic washers and just barely snugged it. I noticed it cracked when polishing it the other day. I pull it off and it's worse than I thought.

gggGary, I'll take a look at Wally. Yep, it's the brightness spread that's got me puzzled. It wouldn't pass an inspection like this.
Thanks guys.

I'm liking the old school hot rod blue dot in the lens!

Thanks much MM. It didn't really show up until I stuck the LED behind it. Then like a diamond in a goats butt! You remember the purple glow of the hot rods blue dots back in the day? Oh, it's quiet unlawful I bet. I hardly ever ride at night! So, I'm gona fly it! ( Adds 5 hp)

Guess I'll Cancel the Carnauba Wax Order

So I had this Special tank hanging in the shed, a victim of a guy with a whole case of beer and a half can of BBQ grill spray paint, and I see there are no dents showing up in the matte black in the shed.
Spent 20 minutes with an EPA approved citrus paint remover and a worn out scotch brite pad and the original ruby red is showing through.
Had it been a factory colour I really liked, I would have put more effort into it.
As it is, it's a dead of winter basement diversion maybe.
But I see Tremclad/Rustoleum has a nice metallic Rose Copper .....
