Side Cover Mod

Using newer primary cover on XS1
Ok I hope this goes in the right place. My first attempt to create an Album. This is for Old Guy.

Sure Pete ! :) My XS1 was purchased with the wrong side cover. The correct one, "at the lower edge has a bolt hole at the rear just left of and below the shifter. The Later model covers have that region filled in so I drilled it out to insert a bolt that engauges the threaded hole that is just behind it on the XS1.
Then Where you see the 1/4 in "Aluminum rod stock" epoxied into that second lower cover bolt hole. That was done to clean up the look of this incorrect cover. If there had been a threaded bolt hole behind it I would have used a bolt BUT the XS1 does not have the corresponding hole in the left case half.

Now I go and read to see what everyone else does when they find out that the Mike XS supplied rubberaccordian Fork Gaiters are an Inch too freakin short to cover the external fork springs. :cussing::cussing:

Yup - there is a type of gaiter used on trucks that everyone says are ideal. Dayco?

I just read that. Im heading to the auto parts store now to check it out. Sad though to have to dissassemble the darn thing for this. Its just like having to tear the engine back down when the " New" chrome bolts that locate the the bolts used for the front chain guide, forced the front cam chain guide inward. They were 1/8 in longer than oem. Gone to gaiter town :cool: see yall in a bit !!
