XS GT 1979 XS650 ROADSTER

The stock frame was stripped down to bare steel, unwanted brackets and tubing removed. The swing arm was stretched 4.5†and stock shocks modified. Custom rear fender wrap was made from 18ga. steel and has a toolbox inside. The gas tank holds 1.2 gallons and is rumored to be from the early 60s. Tail light, directionals and hidden under lights are LED. The 650cc motor was bored. New pistons and rings were installed. The head ports cleaned up, valves lapped and stem seals replaced. The motor had a complete paint treatment. Cylinder and head fins, side covers and valve covers were polished. Original points and coil system is used. Electric controls on the custom handlebars are fully operational. Shaved and polished front forks. Rims and hubs polished, new spokes and tires installed.

The motor runs strong. One kick from the foot lever or a push of the button and she fires right up. The Harley Sportster seat and balanced suspension gives a smooth ride and great handling. Everything except the cylinder boring was accomplished in a very crowded home garage in Davie, Florida by myself. This includes the welding, fabrication, motor overhaul, electrical mods and 2K paint job. The bike was designed to ride. Easy service and repair was engineered into every modification made. All the parts used are commonly found so this can be kept road ready for years to come. Clean, neat, simple and serviceable was the goal on this build.

If you need work done on your classic bike I might be able to help. I can even build a custom bike like this for you.
