Happened to me several times over the years on various bikes. I just got good at riding with no clutch. even finding neutral pulling up to a redlight and push starting it before popping it back into gear. When it happens, I just avoid routes I know have a light going uphill, lol.

Well, as for my problem, it WAS a spring! someone (probably the PO) had the spring in the wrong spot. I'm actually impressed it shifted at all. Now it shifts like butter! Thanks guys. I was worried it would be a case splitter for me.

I've got some bikes for sale. If one goes before you sell, I'll be Pming you. I don't live too far either, so I'll be able to pick it up.

I'm glad I came across this thread. I never had this problem with any of my 650's, but I do currently have this problem with my '66 Yamaha YG1. I'm gonna pull the side cover and hope it's as simple as a spring!

They were on it when I got it, so I have no idea. Just bought a Suzuki Intruder with the same aftermarket forward controls and STILL don't know who makes them. The PO said they are not stock on the Zuke either. Maybe they are ebay cheapies.......

Damn right I am. And I'm missing my old '75B too. I sold 'em because I couldn't bring myself to chop them and I couldn't have my cake and eat them too.... But now I rent a two car garage and I'm not so tight on funds so I'll welcome an extra two wheels taking up space right about now...
