Gary, are you saying I should or should not attempt to clean the green stuff on the floats? I get the impression from your reply that you feel I should clean them. If so, can I use carb cleaner for this, or gasoline?

1. Did you delete the words in your post: "I think they are also on the wrong side of the engine?
2. My vacuum line was just pushed on to the outlet on the manifold - it was not secured with a wire clamp.
