I got ya now. I was reading the forum before drinking coffee..... Iam so deep in this thing another $50 for a used shaft wont kill me. I just ordered another gear set with the hash marked gears.....Anyone need a gear set without hash marks.......

Iam a little confused. I thought the Mikes OD fitment issues were for the shafts without the hash marks and the shafts with hash marks were compatible.

Guessing I should have bought this set instead....

Great...I already ordered a set off ebay and now I do not think its the correct one. I messaged the seller to verify compatibility but maybe he was wrong..... My understanding was the shafts were the same but gears were different. When I emailed the seller he said the gear set would work. Maybe...

When I took the side cover off and peeked at the gear I decided it wasnt worth waiting till winter to repair it......to many chunks in the pan for my comfort!

Thank you, I meant to come back here and do that and got sidetracked ordering gears....ebay is a black hole of take my money!

So did anyone on here go through the trouble of changing to the OD 5th gear? I just split my cases due to a “noise” in 1st gear and a few chunks found when changing the oil.... debating on swapping 5th while it’s apart.

That sucks! I hate to see any small business ran out. MikeXS does have a very “similar” product for about the same money. They also respond to customer emails though... Hard to compete.

On another note, when did PAMCO go out of business? I purchase a coil and blue box that i thought was bad on my bike just a few months ago....

Less loud but present even with engine off coasting downhill in 1st. Eyes wide shut! Haha luckily the road i live on has a nice stretch with no side roads and is straight as an arrow. I will pull the side cover and see if i can find any running. Thanks

Thanks for the explanation! I already knew i would be splitting the case this winter to fix the gear. Lord willing it will hold up through this riding season. My 82 year old grandfather bought a motorcycle as his birthday present to himself this year. He wants to ride to mid Ohio vintage AMA...

The kick start has not worked properly on the bike since i bought it. I can see a gear chipped when i pull the side cover and look back into the case with a flashlight. Is that first gear? I didn’t think the kicker engaged first gear.... but i am a newbie so maybe i am wrong? The gear has been...
