I don´t know how big the 850 tank is but I know the GS1100E - 81 tank i huge! (-82 is ugly) Should fit after some minor...

Hi There.
I had 17/29 a while back ago on my tracker. I ran a whole lot of small gravel roads up here in the north and it worked just fine. Just need to to use the gears a bit more but much better to ride when you hit the highway.

After 13 years of sleep you should take a closer look on the bike. Problaby the clutch plates are stuck together or the clutch assembly needs an adjustment.
Get a workshop manual and start dig in! This is the fun part of having an old bike:thumbsup:

I agree.....you may have a bit large jetting setup. Both main and pilot. But if it idles fine but don´t quiet have the "punch" I would start with the mains.
Have you checked your diaphragms in the carbs?? Small holes will interupt the lifting mechanism and you´ll never go full...
Yeah.....just let it rust for a while. Saltwater to speed up the process. When you acived the right "amount" of rust you just greast it with some paraffin.

Yeah.....I think it will turn out that way. It´s the best place so far. I´m also planning to store all the gas, spraycans, thinner and all that stuff down there.

Yes, I guess you´´re right. Did not think of that. The big ole compressor might fit better in the basement area. But there the sounfd might bounch against the concrete walls.........why do the compressor need to be soooo noisy:banghead:

I really like the idea of putting the air compressor in the overhead storage room. It´s big and nosiey and that space is just the right place for that one. I´ll also put the vent engine (air out) up...
