Thanks. I have had oil on that boot. Maybe it did mess with the connection. And I didn't think the cable could come off the coil. I was thinking of just replacing the boot all together. Is it possible that when my carbs overflowed that gas messed with the starter connection?

Plus I was thinking there should be a way to use the 3 wires at the connection before the switch.
