Ah ok. I’m currently running the MOSFET regulator that is included in the HHB CDI kit. I run a high wattage headlight bulb but all other lights are LED. My first regulator fried due to possibly bad grounds but unsure. Then my stator burned out due to possibly the residual damage from the initial...
Bringing this topic back from the grave....
Would having a cap and a battery help with the sucking up the extra juice generated by the high output stator? in turn, helping out the regulator from overworking?
Replaced the burnt stator and cleaned up all the grounds. Additionally I swapped the 30w LED headlight bulb for a 100/80w incandescent bulb. Idle voltage is now at 13ish. Previously was 14.5ish at idle. I’m hoping this is the ticket to prolonging the life of the regulator and stator!
Just wondering, how does our stator look today? have you run into any issues since you last posted?
i just recently had my hhb cdi stator fry out on me and wondering if it was a fluke or bad grounding.
Did you ever get this sorted?
Same thing happened to mine. Same setup as you - HHB CDI and M-unit.
First my regulator went bad because it wasn't grounded well enough. replaced. then started getting weak spark and the coil gave out. replaced. Everything was running well for a while then...
