    License Plate Holder

off topic... But DAMN those are nice looking welds on that frame! Your shop making frames now, or is that someone elses ?

Dont take everything you hear to heart!

To those overly sensitive types who get all butt hurt over things strangers say on the internet... That is all. :wink2:

    Cutting the frame

And keep in mind it is a lot easier to cut off some more if you left too much on, then to add it back on if you cut off too much. :wink2:

Any opinions good/bad on Metal Head Fabrication for getting my hardtail installed?

I'll be sending my frame off to them here in a few weeks. Not sure 100% what to expect, but looking at the bike he built himself, I'm hoping for good things. It'll be a while before I get the frame back, but as soon as I do I'll post up pics.

    Show me some broken frames...

I believe everyone should know their limitations. Those who are either too cocky or stupid to realise what their limitations are usualy find a way to eliminate their brand of DNA from the gene pool in one way or another. My welding "skills" are as follows: if its thick steel I can make it...

    Raked bike with factory forks????

If memory serves me correctly Greatscott/Gordonscott had his black & white bike set up with 40° rake and stock forks. Maybe he can chime in with info on measurements. Also, remember that switching from a 19" to a 21" will only gain you 1" of height, as ½ of the 2" difference is above axle...

    Stratch and drop, hardtail frmaes.

Not sure what the average drop is, but most tails are right at 4" stretch.

On to the new XS Rat rod racer....

Looks like a hell of a lot more than 38° or 39° to me, but it does look cool.

    David Bird hardtails from lowbrow

I remember JoeWiseguy, a member here who builds bikes, mentioning that he had a customer bring to him a bird looped tail to have installed. He had mentioned that he hadnt fitted it to the bike yet, but the welds and overall quality looked quite good. I'll try to find that post and link it.

    Can anyone post a pic?

I guess that is possible, no idea what that'd look like. I am not worried about it. I'd be kicking myself now if I had used it after seeing the extended backbone tail from metalheadcycles. Anyway... [/hyjack]

    Can anyone post a pic?

Yeah, I've not seen anyone with issues anywhere close to mine. I know I didnt bend it up welding it on as it never made it past very small tack welds. The frame was cut with the motor in, and tail tacked on with it in. Wanted to test fit everything before final welding. I have insanely bad...

    Cherry Popper!

Yeah, cant help with the tail or a shop. I tried a few shops, but got some unfriendly responces. A few just refused, one wanted WAY too much to do it, one refused AND hung up on me. My favorite went as follows: Me: "I'm hardtailing my bike, yall have a jig and willing to tackle the job?"...

    Can anyone post a pic?

I hope your TC weld on was built better than the one i received about a year ago. Mine was about 1.5" too wide at the axle plates, 1.25" too short in the lower tube, the top tubes were spaced .25" from the backbone each side and sat up too high to mate to the factory plate on the backbone...

It's October, what are you working on? (pics)

No pics, unless you really want 'em... got to do a head gasket, power steering pump, and brakes on my sister in-laws minivan. Bike is still in the collecting parts, fight for a title phase. :banghead:
