I found my problem. It's my own stupidity. I misunderstood the TC Bros. directions and I had the 6 wire connectors switched. Once I followed the wiring diagram, I saw they were connected wrong. All is good now.
RG, I have the same problem with an 81. I am using the TC Bros. simple wiring and have 12 volts to the coil but no spark. The TC Bros. 6 pin connector only has 5 wires. It has a blank where it leads to the black wire with white stripe on the CDI box. Is that the kickstand wire you are referring...
Compression test revealed 100 psi on both cylinders. Motor ran but fogged the whole neighborhood with a cloud of white smoke for 5 minutes straight. Oil dripping out the 2 into 1 exhaust. Bad rings or valves or both? Either way, it looks like the top end has to come off which means I might as...
I'm putting a pair of VM34 round slides on my bike. Does anyone know how I should go about measuring the correct length to cut before I solder the ends up on a 2 into 1 throttle cable? Speaking of where the cable goes into each carb. I'm just not sure how much travel I should leave.
I should win because you can already see how badass they're going to look on my current project (with the help of my mad photoshop skills). Plus they'll be a perfect match with the leaf spring seat idea that I already stole from you. And you know you'll get more mileage from your advertising...
Here's my latest project (before and after). Still working out some of the bugs, but it's nice to have one with stock suspension and a quiet ride compared to my chopped 83.
Does anyone have any photos that identify the type of jets in a BS38 carb? I believe the pilot jet is the long one inside the bowl and the main jet is the small round type accessed through the screw on the bottom outside of the bowl. Someone told me there was a "starter" jet in the bowl which I...
You wouldn't happen to know the size of the o ring would you? I have a set of metric o rings from Harbor Freight but none of them seem to fit correctly.
Hey everyone, sorry I'm such an idiot. I mistakenly referred to the o-ring as coming from the main jet. It's actually the float valve piece I should have been talking about. Here's a photo with an arrow pointing to the o-ring in question. If this o ring doesn't seal properly, will it cause the...
