    Thanks , I was thinking the same thing about the vin # being so low ! From the info I have received on this site, I believe that makes it only the 149th xs1 ever made. It's to bad it has been chopped but it is what it is and I will bring it back to life. I will check the mount #s .

    so you are saying it is a 1969, because of the first year exception to the rule that after Aug. the production year advances. sorry just not sure and the guy is having a time finding the ownership. Thanks Cook

    Sorry I'm new to the forum. I picked up a bike last week that had been torn down and hard tailed some time mid 80's then sat for 20+ years. The frame # is S650- 000250 does that mean it's a 69 or 70 ? What vin# starts the 1970 model year ? The reference sheet said 69 - 70 S650- 000101 to S650-...
