The old , what model is my XS question???

HAHAHA made me laugh, that's how I see wiring...... I mean I am a while off wiring yet, but will probably go for xs switches etc. Bike won't be original, I have just added a XS1 tail light onto a Heritage rear mudguard, so it is what I have at hand and what I can get my hands on.

Thanks Raymond, Wiring is a dark art to me, I only have the wires coming off the various electrical components. The rec/reg is mounted to the frame and the TCI box is under the battery box, well it all was till I took it off and primed the box for repainting. I have no switch gear,

Wow. Thanks man . Clears everything. I have a TCI under the battery box. Unfortunately I don't have a wiring loom. May be a problem as seems to be a one off for this model.

See pics, looks like type E to me, which would tie in with XS 650 SG, maybe be new crankcases wrongly stamped???

Thanks for the info. Problem is sourcing parts in the UK, I use Yambits ltd, however they only list two models XS650 and XS650SE.

Ah the plot thickens... there are no other numbers on the engine apart from 447. Would appear to be an engine change at some time. Strange the engine only has the 3 number son it?
