Are these bikes ever really done?

My God! Was that three years ago? Seems like last week. You forgot to mention how both bikes are show stoppers Bob.

Are these bikes ever really done?

That Alvis must have been a thrill Adam! 3 litre straight 6, 4 speed automatic, interior like a men's club drawing room and a body like Gina Lollobrigida. I can live without ABS and sat nav.

Are these bikes ever really done?

Still kicking up dust Bob. Follow your adventures here with interest and awe but only say something if I have something to say. Good to see you're alive and well mate!

Are these bikes ever really done?

When is enough too much? When you're never done I suppose, just like Bob says. We all attack our new projects with that remarkable obsession that sees us pour over every magazine article or video we can lay our hands on. We engage in excellent forums such as this one where we establish our...

    2023 XS650 Calendar Tie-Breaker Vote

Vote shhmote! There always has to be a winner, it's human nature. In reality we are not evaluating these motorcycles - the discovery, the dream, the planning, the search for parts, the expense, the endless hours of effort, the frustration & confusion, the regrets, the injuries and the pride - we...

    2023 XS650 Calendar - Nominations

Just looked in and found JP's Vintage Bobber. I'll take two. That's not a second Skull, it's an order. Cheers

    Interesting motorcycles, not XS650

The V7 Guzzi is a natural step for those who appreciate style, comfort and enough power to keep you interested. Then there's the sound - superb! I got mine Bob and she's sure good looking. The XS is in good company! Makes going for a ride a bit of an arm wrestle though.

My God! Remember the Amphicar? There is no way that swimmer made it onto the beach!

    Kawasaki W800

Ah England! Just the thought of pottering down those ancient lanes surrounded by verdant green and flocks of Border Leicester, Blackface and Cheviot, anticipating a warm pint and a game of darts in the village tavern! It's enough to send me reaching for my travel agent's business card. Wet might...

    Just Ride.

Yes DE, the Harley set is big here amongst our retirees - our ex- solicitors, doctors, psychologists and former CEO's who have had their mid-life crisis a little later than most. Don't get me wrong, everyone is entitled to experience the joy of wind in your hair (?) and the sound of a big...

    Just Ride.

We older riders have mostly adjusted to our age. Diminished eyesight, less accurate hearing, slower reflexes and the aches and pains of attrition serve to lift us beyond the peg scraping adventurism of our youth and elevate us to a new perspective on safety and 'living in the ride'. There is...

Introducing Yamaha’s entire 2022 cruiser lineup!

Forgot too mention one of my favourites, the Moto Guzzi V7. Here is a bike with authentic history and, keep in mind, the Guzzi factory has been popping out motorcycles out since 1921 - uninterrupted history, the longest in motorcycling. The V7 is a genuine classic - the end product of a long...

Introducing Yamaha’s entire 2022 cruiser lineup!

It was possibly Italian motorcycle outfit Benelli who first heralded the demise of the large volume cruiser with their 502c design, (sorry about the pics). Made in China but assembled in Pesaro, the engineering proved that a long distance, naked machine could be comfortable and laid back while...
