Uh-oh...If I dood it, I get in trouble!

Highly likely. I didn't (intentionally) ride in the rain either. At least this way if I get caught away from home I can just put the top up. Assuming I even put it down. I'll have to at least once just because, but I suspect the wind noise will be a show-stopper, particularly with my (lack...

Uh-oh...If I dood it, I get in trouble!

Got it bought. Arranging insurance and registration now, daughter will take me back down Saturday to pick it up. Exactly as advertised, 20,435 miles on the odometer, spotless inside and out. Only flaw I could find was some paint chips around the driver's side flip-up headlight. Test drive...

I got a quote from them and it was about 1/3 of the quote from my regular guy (State Farm). Definitely going with them if the deal is struck.

I'm seeing $200-ish each retail and my tire guy can usually treat me a little better. But yeah, change from a grand ain't gonna buy lunch...

Just found out it's a ragtop, which bums me, but isn't (quite) a deal breaker. And texted the owner, they could very well be the OEM tires. Those will get changed out MOST ricky-tick. Leaving at oh-dark-thirty tomorrow to check it out in person.

    Uh oh...

As it happens, I talked to the owner of the building - also the prospective coffee shop proprietor - yesterday and it's still on hold. He owns a house right on the shore and the Winter storms have raised holy old hell with him. He's on his third new roof since last October (due partly to...

Indeed. That requirement has narrowed my search considerably. To respond to other comments, being able to get in/out is going to be a major choke point. I don't mind a little struggle as it will just be a joyride toy, but needing a crane or a Personal Assistant is obviously a no-go. A...

Question: If I start driving a Vette at age 73, do I need to get the white patent leather shoes and belt and a snap brim hat? EDIT: Had the hat name wrong. I guess it's called a "Gatsby Hat"

But barring something major, I dood it! '90 Corvette, 350/6 speed, in my price range. Going to look it at Wednesday. Taking a wad of Benjamins with me.

    Just Ride.

Oh my! That era is my Holy Grail of pickups. There are two that I know of in the neighborhood, one right across the corner from me. Neither are for sale and if they were I probably couldn't afford them. I do, however, have a line on a 1966 F100 with a 352 and 3 on the tree...

    Sold / Found / Inactive - SOLD - 1977 Yamaha XS 650 D Rolling project for building ~ Maine

May not be, don't know yet. A Miata would be a mistake, it'd take a crane to get me out of one after 20 minutes. Something with 4 wheels and a clutch tho.

Gosh, thanks for thinking of me guys, but I'm SELLING motorcycles, not buying them... I think there's a Gen4 Mustang GT calling my name, gonna do a little research tomorrow.

    1966 Honda CL77 305 Scrambler "Next"

That's exactly like the one I had in the Philippines in 1971. Same color and everything. Good Times... $53 a month for a Goat. You couldn't buy that car now for $53 a DAY!

    Speaking of First Ride

Grandson just texted me that he got home safely on his new toy. He said "This thing is dangerously fun!" Exactly right, if you give your inner child too much leeway, it WILL get you in trouble. Nice to know he's enough of an adult to realize that. In other news, I'm going to have to rethink...

    Speaking of First Ride

{Sniffs, wipes tear from cheek...} Grandson just rode off on the FJ. Big chapter of my life comes to a close. That FJ was the most bike I've ever owned and the source of the most grins ever. I hope he enjoys it half as much as I did. Also sold the BMW for Dale the Builder that we've been...
