See Ebay Item Number 263784378696 for pictures For reluctant sale is my 1972 Yamaha XS2. I bought this over a year ago as a US import and had it registered for UK roads. As it is over 40 years old, it is tax exempt and with the new laws no longer needs an MOT however it does currently have a...

    Finally finished my XS2

Sorry just seen this. I didn't paint it myself so can't tell you the brand but it is Yamaha Candy red, so it has a glittery silver basecoat. This might help http://yamaha-ls3.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/painting-yamaha-candy-brilliant-red.html

    Finally finished my XS2

Hmm well I thought it must have been the Speedo that had been changed but maybe it's the tach. Well at least that would mean the milage might be correct!

    Finally finished my XS2

Thanks all. I originally wanted to customise it but when I went through it, I found that apart from the missing indicators, xs650 badges and seat.. nothing had been changed. Even the seat pan was original and rust free. So I couldn't bring myself to do it and decided to do a resto instead...

Cleaning and rebuilding my XS2 carbs

I managed to source a replacement throttle shaft from member dogbunny and it arrived yesterday. I am very lucky there are people around like him or I would have been screwed. I put the carb back together, set the float heights and tested for fuel leaks off the bike. The carbs were set as stock -...

    XS2 master cylinder size

Just in case someone comes across this thread in the future and finds this helpful... You do need the white plastic piece (Top no 2 in the picture above) but it no longer attaches to the piston with a circlip. The spring fits into the white plastic piece as before, that sits inside the new...

    XS2 master cylinder size

Thanks Yellowdog, I was hoping to save the money but I think the rubber 'hat' was missing as well so I bought the Yambits rebuild kit. The internals are different than the ones in this post http://www.xs650.com/threads/master-cylinder-rebuilding.7862/#post-267951 Where does the brass coloured...

    XS2 master cylinder size

Doing some digging it looks like it is the original and that Yambits just sent me the wrong size part and I do have the original one. The master cylinder doesn't seem in too bad shape but the circlip has broken, does anyone know what size I need to replace it

    XS2 master cylinder size

Can someone help me identifying the front master cylinder I have on my XS2? underneath it has 2 5/8 2. The Outside diameter of the bowl is 50mm and the inner diameter is 45mm. I ordered a replacement cap and diaphragm that was supposed to be for my bike from Yambits but it was too small so I...
