not sure what the needle stop looks like, but I was able to pop the needle right off after reading those links. I marked on the case where 0 was to realign the needle.....hopefully im okay after that.

okay so I got my gauges out but how the hell do you get the speedometer needle off? I got the glass fronts off and the face since mine was cracked in half, but how do I get the needle off?

Thanks all definitely was a dead battery, ordered a new one from chrome battery and it fired up 1st try with the starter Now I have to drain my oil and take the case off to reseat my kicks tarter

thanks! That will be another project of mine down the road. I have a 75 and will probably just get the basic pamco when I go to upgrade my timing. Sounds like the 37k is fine for my needs since the OEM spart was only around 14k. I will just get a plain jane timing light (no advance features)...

Hi Leo - When you set your timing with the light did you need a dwell meter? Did you use a light with advance settings?

good to know. I am torn between the cheapskate in me for the "chrome" battery, and other side of me wondering if 10 additional CCA will help my new starter gear I just replaced...... just noticed they have 18 month warranty too...not too bad.

got the battery on a trickle charger now....i seem too lose alot of distilled water. Think it got fried before I took ownership of the bike. May just buy a new sealed battery. Lets hope thats all the issue is as I created a kickstarter problem for myself when i put my case back on...

Hi Peanut, Yes I did and I understand for the most part where they go, but I did not watch it prior to getting my case on. Just trying to figure out what is out of place that would allowe me to actually kick the bike "on" but not have it return. My best guess is that the nub got pulled away...

whats strange is there is still tension from 10 to 12 oclock. Its once its through the stroke it will not return. I have no clue.
