Sucking air through exhaust, blowing out through carburettors

180 degrees of shouldt be a problem I think, beeing a parallelle twin and all. Anything in between is a problem. What's the story behind this? Did you screw up the way I did or was is Fubar when you got it? If you messed it up by your self you probably know if you met any resitance when the...

Sucking air through exhaust, blowing out through carburettors

I vent for the band aid fix. Figured it was Fubar anyway and that I Will have to pull the top sometime during this season. Turned it around with a wrench and it kept jumping on tye chain. Lined it up with piston at Tdc and the pin in the CAM axle pointing straight up. Reinstalled the CAM chain...

Sucking air through exhaust, blowing out through carburettors

So I checked the timing and the pin in the right hand cover is 45 degrees of. So good news is that I know whats causing the problem, bad news is that I don't have my garage any more. Backyard wrenching it is then. Is it in any way possible to fix this without taking the top of? I'm thinking that...

Sucking air through exhaust, blowing out through carburettors

I have noticed that happening TwoManyXS1Bs, but this seems different. The bike won't start. The movment of air is when I try to kick start it (No electrical starter) and it seems to be more air than when II turn it with a wrench. I've scratched my head bald trying to figure this out. Ok, ok I...

Sucking air through exhaust, blowing out through carburettors

I put my bike away for the winter with a bad case of carburettor flu. Gasoline was poring out of one of my carbs. Bike was running fine. Took the carbs of and checked and cleaned them. Replaced all hoses as well. I put the carbs back on the bike today and now it's blowing air out through the...

How to remove oil pump driven gear

I ended up having to drill out two of the three screws. They were in there like a mofo. Number three came out after using a heating gun and some patience. Impact tool is your friend here

How to remove oil pump driven gear

Just make sure that you don't loose the small wedge (5) that keeps the gear in place on the shaft. I first realized that it existed when I was putting it back togheter.

    Noise, timing etc

I see that my last post was a bit useless. I set the clearance at 0.05mm and 0.15mm as according to my manual. That said, I didn't check the manual I just "remembered" it beeing so fromlast season. Hell if I know. The engine is a series D. The more I think about it the more I realise that it's...

    Noise, timing etc

I set the chain without the engine running. But I checked it at idle afterwards. The adjuster is supposed to move a little each way right? I will double check it. I set the valves at 0.005 and 0.015. It made some noise last season as well, but I fell that it's worse now.But the compression is...

    Noise, timing etc

Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna do a video, but I didn't have the time yesterday. It will have to wait untill I come home from work. I took the bike to a Yamaha dealer and he said the same as you. Some noie is expected from these engines.

    Noise, timing etc

Last night I finaly got the engine back together and started her up. Some small complications, but what can I expect beeing a noob and all. Started on third kick, first kick the rest of the night. Runs well, pulls hard all the way. Big difference from last year. The only thing I noticed is a...

    No compression

Paulrxs650 I owe you one. Big time. I decided to go with your advise on the clucth and turned out the wire was jammed with the clutch halfway in. Thats why it only turned over a time or two before it went back to just spinning around. Good thing I didn't take the engine out from the frame again...

    No compression

I left the clutch as it was since it was working good. I didn't diassemble the kick either, just took the right cover off. The kick turns the engine if I turn it around on the nut under the left hand cover. Just once and then it feels like its only turning some bits and pices around

    No compression

Ok. Seems like I have compression after all. My problem is that when try to turn the engine with the kick the engine does not move. I removed the starter, but noting else.

    No compression

I just finnished assembling the engine after a tear down and I wanted to check if I had i spark on the sparkpluggs. Turns out I dont. And there is no compression either. The kick goes down with no change in resistance. Wut the fuk have I done this time? Only changes I've made is replacing the...
