Im second owner of a very clean .79 SF with 7k miles and the sump screen was torn. the moon filter had some junk in it I plan to wash it out or get a better filter if the mikes filter is still the good Fuji (their ad doesn't mention). and for my sump filter I'd like to get the best replacement...

    oil filter

I haven't yet read all 14 pages of this and I just got my first xs650 late last year so the oil filtering is still foreign to me, but my experience is never put anything in a motor that can break free. we have always been very cautious with silicone sealant on gaskets for fear of squeeze out...

    Swingarm Brace Dimensions

I know this an old thread but looking to fit a taller/wider rear wheel. The Radian has a 16" rear but would that swingarm with a 2" extension be about the best easiest path and would it require bracing??

All balls tapered bearing swap into a '79 xs650

I just read the tech article how -to and it made no mention of a spacer.. I'd swear I read somewhere to keep the old lower ball bearing race as a spacer. But using the search tool I think I figured it out please confirm? the '74 & up xs frame neck is longer then the pre-'74 neck so if you...

Need a fork brace for '79 Special

Yes I was thinking the boots might stay put a little.. I'm scratching my noodle on this. I only went after it bc the front end was apart and I had one on a Harley that was one piece living in the tubes. These on the lower legs can be added anytime but not the gator boots. Need decision on that

Need a fork brace for '79 Special

I agree on logical upgrades. I have neck bearings and cartridge emulators on order (gonna try with chopped stock springs). Then I'll see how the front and rear handles.. I read something bout swingarm bushings. I put cartridge emulators and straight springs in my '79 GS1K big improvement fork...
