got a nice long wallet, a smaller wallet just for cards for when the big wallet just wont work and i nice leather tray to throw all the stuff from my pockets in when i get home, all made by anvil. couldnt be happier. love the hand made quality goods.

Thanks azman, any idea why I would need it on the bike as I was told it's a 1970 kickstart only motor? sorry if my questions seem dumb, I'm new to bikes and treys to find these answers out on my own already, that's what brought me here.

So can anyone tell me what this is, if I need it and what it's purpose is ?

Sorry I don't mean to hijack the thread but I didn't want to start my own as this one seems to be on the same track. I bought the bike from a local guy who told me the motor was a kick start only from a 1970 xs650, ans that the frame was from an 84. He re did the wiring, all that is hooked up...

Someone does make a conversion kit so a guy could use a " normal " oil filter, I actualy came to this thread hoping someone could tell me who, I'm going to google it and I'll report back with what I find out

Thanks for the help guys, I got a trickle charger/maintainer for, walmart the other day and yeah, the battery was low, but before I had a chance to pop it back in and fire it up, I started tearing the whole thing down haha, it was bobbed out before but I spent a whack o money at lowbrow and now...

I'll take a picture tomorrow but yes they are 3 bolt on the exhaust rockers, and no electric start, kick start only

ok so heres a couple shots,one of the electrical box, a couple of the motor itself, i dont know anything more than what the PO told me, so if anyone could shed some light that would be great.

Will these fit with stock parts?

No the box was replaced, not sure what the specs are with the replacement I could post a photo if it would help

Ok, so I'm new to bikes I just bought an xs650 from what im told the engine is a kickstart only from a 69/70 xs650 sitting in a hard tailed 84 frame, custom wiring job I think 6 to the motor and the 3 for the lights etc. When I bought the bike last month it hadn't ran in about 4-6 weeks and...

Yay first post hahaha. I just bought my first bike, no pma on it but was wondering if this cover would fit over the stock alternator? If it will, I live in Duncan I'll be home from work in a week and could meet up with ya. Definitely support the welding school idea, I'm a j-man welder myself now...
