Mike,
You can have the air boxes.... however, I will require an offer for the headlight brackets. I planned on painting them and replacing the ones that are currently on the bike. What shape is your XS2 in? Pics?
Gary,
Mike's has been out of the rear spokes for some time now. I purchased two new rims and the front spokes. Front wheel is finished with a new ire on it. Is there another place to purchase those rear spokes?
I still need to find the latch part of the seat. I have the Hook and Spring part on the bike frame but no idea of what the latch part looks like. Can it be purchased anywhere? Or do I have to fabricate one?
Mailman....
I do not remember telling you this but I did order a seat from Texavina.... and it came in today. Almost three weeks to the day. I must say I like the quality. The metal seat pan is a perfect match. I did have to purchase the mounting hardware and I am not sure that I have it in...
So... use the same spokes for the front and back rim? What rim would you use?
Sorry for asking all these questions... it's just that I hate buying something and having to return it.
Ok... I got the bike running pretty good. I have a new set of condensers coming and now I want to move onto the front of the bike. I was thinking of going with slightly wider tires.... maybe make the tires the same size (18 inch ). Any comments on if I should do this? Please keep in mind...
Well Jim you were correct... it was a bad condenser. The way I found out is that I had an old condenser off a 1975 Honda CB350 Four that had the same Piggy Back configuration as the dual coil XS650. For kicks I installed it... bike started right up with both cylinders this time. So... I tried...
New Coils, Points and plugs. The one thing that I did not replace was the condensers. As far as the year of the carbs... I just assumed that they are the original 1972 '38 carbs' that cam with the bike.
I am going to trim a little off the spark plug wire and see if that could be a cause for...
Your Iron Clad Rule has always been what I assumed... however, everything I have read always referred to it as an Air Screw. I should have also mentioned that it does not look like the offending cylinder is firing all the time. Almost like it fires every second or third time. I have checked...
Went to a local Ace Hardware and they had the 8 X 1.25 in a 31mm length. Worked great. I double nutted the stud and drove it home... good as new.
QUESTION: The bike starts within a couple of kicks; but the left side cylinder is backfiring on acceleration as well as decel. Do the Air Mixture...
