Ok Thanks for the reply. I guess I should be able to rebuild these to original specs. Do i need to change jets (main and/or needle) if all I'm doing is adding pod filters?

Here are my pics. Another thing about these carbs are that the brass tube that should be pressed into the inside of the float bowl is missing - on both carbs. Not sure what the tube is though.

Do all Mikuni BS38 carbs have a stamp with the name on the top of them? I picked up a set of what appears to be a 1978-79 set of BS38 carbs for my 1977 xs650 but not sure they are genuine Mikuni. They are blank on the tops - no markings at all. Any ideas as to what that means? Thanks
