I use straight Simple Green. It really works well for most parts. For removing varnish, such as case cover clear coat, I use paint remover, Zipp Strip. Kerosene is very good too for a general cleaner.
Anyone know the correct method to remove the tripmeter reset knob? This is off an '82 XV920R. I've felt inside the opening with a jeweler's screwdriver, no luck. I've tried turning the knob the opposite direction from the direction to reset it, no luck. I've tired firmly pulling on the knob...

I modified the basic plans for the adapter for use on my '82 XV920R.
I'm running FJ600 wheels, with EBC rotors, a pair of FZ1 calipers and MC. What a difference in performance. :bike:
I've got a Yamaha XV920R 18" rear drum wheel you can have for cost of shipping. Has new EBC shoes. You can have the matching 19" front wheel if you like too. I'm guessing ~ $25.00 to ship each wheel.
