Thanks I'll retrace all I've changed. If I turned the mixture screws, 2 1/2 turns from all the way down. Would that have anything to do with it? Only thing possibly changed other than the float height.

Hello all. I have been working on getting this bike running. Ive gone through quit a bit so far. In cleaning the carbs I realized they were bs34 carbs. The PO myust have switched them at some point. The bike would idle then flood out. Realized the float needle seat o ring was worn one carb...

The problem is one gaske was stuck on the head. I didn't remove it and I left it on while cleaning the carbs. Can I just bold it it back on. Or do I have to remove and replace with new gasket?

Question....when I pulled off carbs to clean, on of the gaskets was left behind. Seems like PO pot some sort of liquid gasket on there. Am I fine with adding a thin layer befor bolting them on? Or shoul I just bolt them on without the liquid gasket? I have some hondsbond, will that work if needed?

Yes I have lots of learning and reading to do. Using this all as a learning experience. Figure it's the best way to learn about the bike. I have tools and a garage, so I have no excuse other than time. Plus it gives me some peace from the wife and kids. Hopefully one day I'll be able to ride...
