5twins when you say bevel do you suggest using some fine sandpaper? Thanks for the tips. I’ll get some gasket sealant too.

Starter motor seal is fused to case

Thanks Jim! I didn’t know that metal ring was built in to it and I never really gave my new seal a good look/feel. I just went out to the garage and popped that baby right out - super easy. Appreciate all you guys!

Starter motor seal is fused to case

Okay thank you all for the input. I didn’t realize there was a metal ring in there as well. I’m assuming then that once that is out I can reuse it? I have a new rubber seal with a little circular spring inside.

Starter motor seal is fused to case

Hello, Since it’s raining buckets in the PNW these days, I figured I’d fix the leak coming from the starter motor. Engine is in frame. I have everything pulled off and access to both sides. The issue I’ve got is that sucker is really stuck on there - I have picked, scratched and scraped with...

Interesting grips I haven’t see those before. I can see how that might be nice for long rides. I'm going to stick with these bars for now since I like the angles and find 'em pretty comfortable + my other bikes have similar bars. Cool to see your rides too, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the input fellas! Really appreciate all the good advice especially about riding position. I do want to be as comfortable as possible when I'm riding so I can relax into the flow. The new bars (builtwell tracker high) did the trick and lets me sit up more straight. I'm keeping the...

I’ll test taps and see what’s going on but in the mean time try and keep the tank full! She doesn’t vibrate - the issue is the position and weight pressing forward that causes numb hands in my case. At least I think so. I switched the bars out yesterday so I’ll find out as soon as it stops...

Hello - I am the new & lucky owner of Doomey, who I call Honey:heart: and I just wanted to chime in here as I finally was able to read through ALL the posts on this excellent build. I've put about 300 miles on her so far and it has been an absolute joy to ride. I think maybe the vacuum hoses got...

    Quick evening ride around

I love riding through the Albina Train Yard on motorcycles and bicycles. Great place to see the Willamette river and gritty industrial backdrops.

Pretty neat hu? I think Randy said this came off an old Yamaha but I don't remember the model. Perhaps he will see this and respond. It fits perfectly on there!
