what size is the front tire?

Nevermind, I am just going to switch the 79 cam into the 82 motor. Correct me if I'm wrong but they should be the same right?

I have finally started doing this swap and cannot seem to figure out which bushings you guys are talking about. I took the ATU housings off of both motors and took all the points parts off the 79 motor and they are ready to go on the 82 motor. I just can't figure out specifically which bushings...

Oh I forgot to mention why the first motor was "bad" The compression was low when I tested it, but on top of that I found huge chunks of aluminum and plastic in the sump filter when I changed the oil. The aluminum does not look to be from a a bearing or anything, I think the cam chain tensioner...

Man, you guys rock! Thanks for all the help with this. I think I'll go ahead and wait on getting any sort of aftermarket ignition for a little while and just swap over the parts from the '79 motor.

Cool thanks. So is that something that is worthwhile and/or cost effective then? Do I need any special tools to do so?

I have a 79 with points ignition. The motor needs a new cam chain tensioner and bad compression, so I bought a motor from an 83 with good compression and didn't even think about the fact that it had electronic ignition (well I'm a noob, so I didn't know to be honest). So my problem is this...
