That's what all the header wrap is for. At least I hope it works as I bought the same exhaust

sounds good. I ended up running a die down a longer bolt to get one with the length that I needed. Most of them over about 1" long just have the long unthreaded "shoulder" on them so you can't run a nut all the way up to the head like I have. Running a die down it allows you to use whatever...

It's funny you say this as I just got back from picking up a wrench that fits on my coupling nut! Please see attached pic and let me know what you think. I haven't welded the coupling nut or the wrench yet. Just mocking it up. I drilled out the coupling nut just big enough for the M8 bolt to fit...

The wrench with the nut welded to it will go where the red Arrow is pointing. Then I'll use that jam nut to keep it in place

DIY Suicide clutch with Jockey shifter

I'm doing this right now. The stock threads are M8x1.25 so I just got a bolt and threaded it in with a jam nut. Also welded a nut to a wrench to use as a Lever. The only issue I'm finding is you can't swing the wrench around as it hits the stator portion of the cover so it takes a few tries to...

Pamco install - sparks but won't fire

I usually park it on the center stand and I don't recall seeing any fuel drops. It's on the center stand now so when i go back to it i'll check and see if it's dripping or not. when it was dripping i did have it on the side stand outside of my work so if it doesn't leak on the center stand...

I forgot to mention that the petcocks are shut off. I always shut them off when I turn the bike off.

this time it was on the side stand but the fuel drops were coming from both carbs.

Pamco install - sparks but won't fire

well I guess I jinxed myself. I went out to the bike on my lunch break and there's drips of fuel on the bottom of both float bowls. I have new floats, new float valves and new float bowl gaskets. The float levels are set correctly as well. if anything they're ever so slightly lower than...

Pamco install - sparks but won't fire

I replaced the float valves last night. They are the correct ones (the new ones that I received) and they seem to have solved my float bowl overflowing issue

well my replacement parts just arrived. They appear to be the correct flow valves but i'll know for sure once I pull the carbs apart again. The guys at xs650 direct were nice and helpful to deal with and they even sent me a nice "xs performance" shirt as well! thanks guys.

Thanks gggGary. That confirms my issue. My replacement seats are 9.90mm i just went and double checked my measurements now. I my stock ones were 8.90 as well so i've clearly been shipped the wrong parts. thanks for your help!
