Nope when you sit on it with your feet on the pegs my legs are like 4" away from them. Im (5'10") The only time you have to be cautious is moving it or sitting at a light. But to battle it .. i made a heat sheild and wear jeans. I only ever got zapped once and it was from one of the brass heat...
