Thanks grizld1! That makes perfect sense now. :doh: My brain must have been in a fog last night after having the carbs off 5 times yesterday. First check is to see if it does the same thing with the petcock in the prime position. Then I'll check and see if the float actually floats.

I'll start by saying I've searched the forums and tried everything I can find to remedy this. I have an '82 XS650 with a pair of BS34s. I completely rebuilt the carbs including replacing both bodies with a pair that were professionally cleaned. After I installed them, I had a race shop...
