there is a speed gain but if like there could be more there.when i shift in to 5th the speed gain doubles.

I have an 82 xs650sj.my first motor cycles and i love it.Had a few problems, but thanks to this web site and all the wealth of knowlage, this has been a great adventure. anyways on to this problem. the bike runs good.I pretty sure all my clutch adjustments..worm,perch and cable are in good...

in a holding pattern here.With the ignition rotors.Leaning towards having the tci rotor rewond.I want a good running,reliable bike.Not one thats jerryrigde.New rotors are pricy.So I'm at a stand still on my project for now.I thik that my rotor is the cause of my head lamp problem.thanks again...

jonh will be missed by many.I'm sure his ideas,opinions and tech support will live on here for many years to come. i just learned of his passing today.Its always a tragedy to lose such a great mind and person.

if my .650 is off then it in turn my timing will be off?

that is pretty cut and dry. can i was the earth magnet from the tci rotor on the point rotor,if i can get it out?

i have a meter! tested the batery at idle it was right about 12.2.Tested it at 3000 rpms it was 13.3.I also tested the rotor from band to band it read 2.4 ohms.think that is a problem.I have read it should be 5.-5.5 ohms.I have another rotor it reads 5.8.It come off an older bike with a points...

1982 xs650sj heritage spec. head lamp on the fritzzz.i have tested a few things.Handle bar switch,(ok)jumped the reverce lighting device light works,think thats good.Now on to the saftey relay switch and jumped that, the light works.Not sure but eaither the saftey relay is bad or the generator...
