    '82 pre-wiring dilemma

Hey everyone. I've got an '82 chopper that I'm rebuilding. I'm just down to wiring and have hit something I've yet to encounter with the many simplified wiring setups I've given this bike. I finished the wiring, and when I turn the key switch I noticed my battery voltage drop 3-4 volts (keep...

    Stalling troubleshooting. Charging? Carbs? FUUUUUUUCK

I need help, bad. I just "finished" my first build. It's an '82 Heritage. I started taking it out for short rides and began not getting it to be able to start. I cleaned the carbs thoroughly 3 times, and finally was able to get it to start after putting in new spark plugs. It ran good for...

    Help slowing down the idle

Haha, by "out" I meant "in". And yeah I've adjusted the idle screw but couldn't slow it down enough.

    Help slowing down the idle

My '82 is idling a bit fast and I want to slow it down. It's sitting at around 1300-1500 according to the on board tach (which I realize isn't totally accurate, but it's noticeably fast to my ear and I'd like to slow it down to a nice low rumble). I've obviously got the choke all the way out...

Opinions on which hardtail to buy

I'm planning on hardtailing my '82, and was wondering if anyone has opinions on whether to get the premaid hardtail by TC Bros or G&L Choppers. Obviously the TC Bros are way more common, but for my first build I'm not looking to make something new and exciting. Is there any build quality...

    Carb jetting

I assume these are the small ports on the inside edge of the bell that the air filters slip over? I don't have much experience, so pardon the possible laymen question.

    Carb jetting

Okay, so I fixed the leaky carbs. All it was was the petcock not sitting correctly. But here is something to add to the equation that might make more sense as to some possible friendly advice: I was making a new battery mount and had to pull the air filters off to squeeze everything out...

    Carb jetting

I'm gonna throw my situation into the discussion here, because this is exactly what I'm trying to figure out. I have a stock '82 I just got, and I also replaced the air filters with pods and cut the pipes down (just cut the mufflers off, so the pipes end right below the pegs). While the bike...
