In total, 16 weeks. But minus the 2 weeks for shipping (1 week to ship there, 1 week to ship back), that brings the time down to 14 weeks. Original build time was stated as 2-3 weeks. But yes, definitely glad to have it back.

I just wanted to update this thread. Yesterday I received the frame. Its been long over due, but I finally have it now.

The writeup of rebuilding the engine from Mikesxs is great, but on all 4 pages, the last 7-to-10 photos are missing. Does anyone know where I can find them?

The bars are chromed. But I will still do that when I get the back back home. Any idea about the kickstarter? it is a 1980

Handlebars have been changed, from euro to drag. But one of the first things I did when I went back was to unscrew the starter housing to check, but nothing seamed out of place. I checked the fuses, and they all seemed intact. But now that I think of it, one of them had a odd "ding in it"...

Well, I went back, but this time with the parts needed to use the kickstarter. No luck It was kind of easy to try and kick the bike, I didn't feel alot of resistance.... What could this be?

Working on a project bike, took it out for a spin today, rode it for probably 15 minutes, it rode perfectly. Stopped to get gas, started the bike fine and then rode it maybe 50 feet, and then it started sputtering and died (yes, petcock was on). Started it again, but then could only go 5 feet...

Scary moment on the road. Was leaving from a red light to the free way on ramp. Was just beginning to accelerate when all of a sudden the bike siezed up. Had no idea wtf was happening. Thankfully I had a strong grip and was able to keep the bike straight. I think I literally "grinded to a stop"...

As others have said, check the battery.

Happy to say that the bike is now up and running. Completely dismantled the carbs, soaked in pinesol overnight. Shot compressed air through all openings. In addition to carb work we also installed new spark plugs, rechecked all wiring and then got new fuel. Bike fired right up, even with the...

Just a little update. Unfortunately the pine sol carb soak didn't work. we left it soaking overnight for a total of about 15 hours. I will say though, that when I put the carbs back on the bike (also fully charged the battery, again) and tried to fire it up, we now got puffing and some back...

True, its now on our list. Sadly, the kickstart didn't work either. we are now starting to get some backfiring.... This kind of thing happened to me a few months ago on my bike....rebuilt the carbs 3 times and still had problems getting the bike to start + backfire. I ended up soaking them...
