Hi Guys, thanks for the replies... No such luck with a threaded standoff, just the usual crappy frame welds... which I guess leads me to conclude that I have a 72 frame?? Mailman, do you have a pic of your 72 in this area? I would be interested to see if the weld and sleeving is similar in this...

So, a quick update… My package from Hieden tuning finally arrived (2+ months in transit) with the straight carb boots in place of the angled versions, the side covers easily fit. The Heiden boots were a very precise replica of the OEM versions, and allowed me to use the OEM steel boot cover...

    XS1B Texas Resurrection

Hi DogBunny, I placed my order in the third week of March and they shipped with a tracking number at the end of March... Since then... it sat at PostNL for about a month, and it looks like it was probably placed in a container and shipped by sea (by PostNL) at the beginning of May... This is...

    XS1B Texas Resurrection

Yes 5T, the interference is with the flanged section... a straight boot should help greatly, but it still might very tight in there. DogBunny, I bought the set from Heiden tuning €40 (45USD), the only other option that I could find was JBM industries @ 74USD. Despite the fact that I put in my...

    XS1B Texas Resurrection

Hi DogBunny the angled boots will work functionally with the earlier years, but it might cause interference with the side covers due to the downward angle of the boot. I imagine that it would also not line up with a stock airbox. Shown here is my 73 cover which wont seat fully, and interferes...

    Basic sidecar set up?????

Hi, just a general question... would you not take into account the weight of the rider on the bike, and setup the sidecar level to the bikes weighed-down/compressed state?

Hi Pete, I wouldn’t doubt that they once offered these, but I couldn’t find any left side switch options that looked the part for me... could be wrong... Hi 5Twins, definitely hanging on to them, but I have a slightly larger fish to fry in the short term...

So, with Vancouver in a virtual lock-down and kids activities cancelled due to Covid19 I’ve got no excuses as to not provide an update. After sorting out he center stand, next up was the shocks… the bike came with Koni shocks, but unfortunately, they were seized. Reaching into the parts bin I...
