    Beaten to Death!

Good call to yamaman and jp5015. My left side points terminal insulation was melted away just a little and this was making contact to the wires. I put shrink wrap around the exposed wire and positioned the terminal so it had no contact with anything. Thanks guys! Runs like a raped ape now!

I know, I know, I know.... another single cylinder not firing question. Bare with me.... I just got through finishing the wiring on my chop build, '73 tx650, and I have a problem. I've had it running fine before but here's the prob. I searched every post and I can't figure this one out. My...

    Throttle Assembly

They are MIKUNI CARBs. I bought this bike and it's apparent that there different parts from different years that complete this bike. My forks look like a later year just by the tube caps. I knew nothing of Yamaha's until I bought the tx650. I usually wrench on HD. Anyway, the throttle assembly...

    Throttle Assembly

Does anyone know where to buy a clean throttle assembly that accepts dual throttle cables that actually functions right? The reason I am asking is I bought a Pamco dual throttle assembly from Dime City Cycles and the the housing for the throttle sleeve allow the sleeve to roll to far forward and...

Glad it worked out for you. Right on!

New throttle cables (& lubed) and still not smooth...

Let me know how it worked for you. I would drip it into your cable housing until you see it dripping out the bottom end. Then squeeze the cable lever for a little bit and it should get easier as you squeeze. The White Lightning will dry into a wax liner inside the housing. I would lube up every...

Get a waxed based dry lube like white lightening. You can find it at any bicycle store or bicycle section of WalMart. I had the same problem with my Sportster. I tried Inox and other lubes to no avail. Then I tried White Lightening and bingo. Smooth as silk! I don't recommend motor...
