I bought at autozone the duralast AL795 and it gives 1.5 oh. On the other hand I put together the 2 points going to the capacitor. From there is going to the negative terminal of the ACCEL 140405. I grounded the capacitor body to the ground as well... at the moment nothing is happening. I forgot...

Hello, I own a xs2 from 1972. A solid state regulator, an ACCEL coil 140405, a set of 2 capacitors (I think should be used just 1), and the 2 points old system. I got me 3 nylon screws for ungrounding the armature (saw a diagram on xs650chopper.com). No electrical starter and a couple of blinks...

I used it with my old harley panhead that comes with points. In fact had to take it off when installed an electronic ignition because it is got just 2 wires and I needed 3 wires... so it worked with points, at least with my duoglide from 1961. I assumed that works with one capacitor... thanks...
