    Cam Tensioner old style fix?

I have a 73 TX650 with the old style cam chain tensioner with the wheel. I'm in the middle of a rebuild and the plastic on the tensioner where the rod pushes against has some fine cracks in it. Is there any way to repair the cracks or keep them from growing? I found a NOS tensioner but its a...

OK, when I pull the barb off either cylinder the engine revs up quite a bit... Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

    Mikes keihin carb kit

Received mine earlier this week and just installed them this morning. No problems installing. Fired up pretty quick and adjusted the idle screws to a nice idle and took it around the block. Runs a lot smoother than my VM34s did without any real adjustments. But I dont think I ever had them...

Easy-Out sheared off in bolt... am I screwed?

Same thing happened to me with the screw/bolt on the front brake master cylinder reservoir cap. Damn extractor broke off in it and have not had any luck so far getting it out. Tried dremeling a new groove, jb weld, etc. Going to have my buddy weld a nut on there as a last resort.

    Clean turn signal switch?

I used something very similar to that. Actually used the headlight switch part of it as my kill switch. Figured if I ever got a ticket for not having turn signals I would have the turn switch wiring already there.

    dies when idling

No, TX650... It seems to do it more when its nice and warmed up. So a couple times I pulled over and tried to listen real close if one cylinder or both were doing it and of course it would run fine. Only seems to do it at stoplights. lol.

    dies when idling

Mine has been doing that. It misses or something occasionally at idle (sounds like it coughs or spits). Had to up the idle to keep it from stalling when that happens. Starting to do it more though. Am going to try and track down the problem this weekend.

    Let's See The XS's

Thanks, although I did get it pretty much the way it looks. Made a few changes here and there but spent a lot of time getting the motor running right. It had that Toyota-like self reving thing which was a lot of fun with no kill switch (fixed that right away, lol). Re-did the rear brake...

    Ridability question

My hardtail rides pretty smooth compared to the iron head hardtail I used to have. That one had a springer front end and rode very rough... I felt every little bump in the road. My XS has the stock front end and I think it makes a big difference. I do get "air" going over railroad tracks etc...

    U.F.O.

Here's a cool review of the UFO from a snowmobile site. Sounds like its tricky to tune and will cause fuel mileage to drop big time without modding it a bit. http://web.telia.com/~u97016182/tech/ufo.htm
