What have you done to your XS today?

My brother in law worked for the local Yamaha dealer for several years. While working there, he purchased a year old 1974 650 with 900 miles on the odometer. At some point that year, the dealer gave him a set of Shelby Dowd wheels for the 650. He mounted new Dunlop tires on the wheels and...

    Feedback for Infantilebehavior

Purchased a Harley rim and hub and it was an excellent transaction. Great communication, well packaged and fast shipping. He has high ninja or origami skills creating boxes out of ordinary cardboard. Worth the purchase just to see the package.

XS650 rally, rides Ozark mountains, Arkansas April 28-30th

Very cool to see you guys went to Jasper. My Mother grew up there and we are friends with the owners of the Ozark Café. I'm assuming that's where you ate lunch. If I had known, I would have pulled out my 74 TX650 and rode with you. I'm glad everyone had a safe trip. Hopefully, we'll join you in...

Picked up another XS... frame ID help?

The frame was probably made by Santee or GMA/Machine Shop (same owner). Rider

im looking for info on these pentagram wheels

They might have been made by Henry Abe. Abe was a big aftermarket company in the 70s. Rider

im looking for info on these pentagram wheels

I have a set 19" front and 18" rear. They are not the same wheel that was found on Suzukis. Close but there are major differences. Rider

Rear disc brake with spoke wheels.

You might be able to use a Honda 750F rear hub, it's a full size 40 spoke hub with a disc brake. Somewhere in the back of my mind I remember someone doing this. I saw a XS650 with Evo Sportster hubs at the AMCA meet in Eustis, FL a couple of years ago. Rider

    Beware of international title serive!!!!!!

I used ITS in the early 90s. Got an Alabama registration and tags for a little under $100. I could have driven to either Georgia or Alabama and done it myself for $18, but ignorance prevailed. I was living in Virginia at the time and had no problem getting a VA title and tags with the ITS...

Ever buy your oil in paper cans?

Yes I have purchased and used oil in cardboard cans and my nifty little Honda 50 would go all week on 50 cents worth of high test gas. Rider

    CycleGear... Anybody shop there ???

I'm generally deperate for something when I go to Cyclegear, it's out of my way and I pass two independent shops between home and work. I've bought a few things from them and the prices were OK. I never noticed any markup, but I wouldn't swear it didn't happen. Rider

Review of some parts purchases from MikesXS

I bought a 18" aluminum rear rim and stainless spokes from Mike's late last year. Shipping was resonable and fairly quick, but the packing could have been better. The box was pretty beat up by the FEDUPS guys. I also wanted to buy a 21" rim and stainless spokes but the rims were out of stock. I...
