Make Offer - 1970 XS Front End & parts bike

I have both fenders, the rear is pretty good with one little ding, the front has a 1/4" hole drilled in it but is otherwise very nice, I'll check on the motor mount and steering damper stuff. I'll take twenty bucks plus shipping for the air cleaner housing, maybe I'll throw both in? I'll need a...

Left cylinder only fires when there's 1/4" fuel in bowl?

Problem solved, turns out the new diapghrams I bought for the carbs were loose around the slide body and that kept the slide from lifting and thus permanently choking the motor. Also they allowed the slide to spin and the cutaways would not stay to the rear. My buddy threw a set of used oem ones...

Left cylinder only fires when there's 1/4" fuel in bowl?

Wether the float adjustment is off a couple of mm's doesnt explain why it refuses to fire until almost all the fuel is gone from the bowl? If it was coming out the overflow I could wrap my brain around it but this seems to be the opposite? I have a great spark but excessive fuel seems to drown...

Left cylinder only fires when there's 1/4" fuel in bowl?

I've been trying to get my stock 73 running right for weeks. It runs good when I first fire it up after opening the petcocks, then the left cylinder cuts out. I have swapped plugs and leads and the right cyl always fires and runs great. I found tonite that the left cylinder cuts in and runs good...

Can I rebuild the petcocks on my 73?

Both of my petcocks have full flow in the off position, mega PITA when trying to work on carbs. Is there parts available to rebuild these or do I have to go aftermarket? Thanks guys.

No spark, no start, pamco, coil?

Shifty, there was another Pamco thread that suggested putting a 7.5 amp fuse inline with the power feed from the kill switch to the coil. That way if you leave the ignition on for an extended period it will pop the 50 cent fuse and not the $75 coil. I'm gonna do this on my 73.

No spark on left side w/ Pamco

Thx JD and Derek. So does the Pamco have a primary lead off the board for each cylinder or is it safe to assume that if one side is firing then the Pamco is doing all it can do and likewise with the coil? If you have high tension on one secondary post then you should have it on the other? This...

No spark on left side w/ Pamco

I searched thru the Pamco related topics but most talked of complete coil failure or Pamco board issues. I put a Pamco and his mid grade black coil on my stock 73 last fall, I have maybe 100 miles on the system. I have no spark on the left cylinder now. Maybe I had the ignition on w/ out...

    End of the world...

There's a great book called "One Second After", It takes place in a small mtn town near Ashevile, NC after the nation is shut down by an EMP strike. Written by an ex military man and shows day by day how quickly things can go south when life is no longer "normal". Great read, you wont want to...
