I had a friend do that in the party room of our house back in college, we were in Potsdam NY and he was working on his bike in the living room during the winter and just itching to try out his carb work. Not that I am advocating it but some soco 100 may have been the catalyst.
i did mine the same way as kvanderploeg. I haven't got the bike running yet to test it but as long as you use either locktite or lockwashers and snug it down good you should be good to go.
