THX....I am reading the carb guide now. I do not know what the PO x2 did to this bike. I bought the pair 73 and 76 in a storage unit auction for $500. The 73 had the title in an envelope under the seat. So far the carbs appear to be off the 1976, I don't know about the ignition system...

I have a 73 XS that I have been working on for a year. It will run but it will occasionally backfire through the carbs. I have reversed the coil wires but then it will not fire at all. Switch back to original positions and it start right up but still backfiring through the carb. Maybe...

Thanks for the info. on the Grose Jet. Can they be retro fitted with needle jets? The one ball is sticking causing the carb to leak through the overflow valve. Thanks again, Doc

I have been working on chopping a 1973 XS. When I disassembled the carbs instead of a needle valve in the float bowl there were small glass ball in the valves. The balls seemed to free floating and were allowing fuel to pass into the carb since the bike had been previously running. I can't find...
