I just did the pamco on my 76. It was easy, ur bike doesn't have mechanical advance so that will be the only difference. I also replaced charging system at the same time. I don't know of any other options.

Mine was doing same thing. Turned out it was a weak/dead battery. Also u can't leave the ign on without the engine running with those coils.... I believe that's right? Frys them.

Got a '76 xs650, can I use the $54 on mikesxs for my bike to replace the reg and the rectifier. The description is confusing... Is it both a reg and rectifier? And what's the difference between the $54 and the $99 units? Thx

Ok so i read the carb tuning manual and dove in. Everything was sprayed with carb cleaner hit with the wire brush and blown out with comp air. Main jets were 122.5 and pilots 25... seems to be on the lean side considering a better flowing intake and exhaust after the latest mods. While...

These are the filters... I now know they block the slide vac port and pilot and main air jet ports... Supposly u can cut the inner lip so it won't block the ports... Meanwhile I took them off. http://www.mikesxs.net/product/15-0152.html

Just bought a stock 76 xs650. Want to make it a bobber. It ran descent til I started messing with it. Installed cherry bomb on each side and pod filters. Breather lines are just hanging there unplugged. Run great at idle all the way up til 4k rpm then it pops and won't accelerate anymore. I did...
