Been hammering on this Ol' girl forever. Just down to needing a good rotor, some mirrors, and the chrome trim pieces for the gauges. Thanks to XsLeo for the help!!!!!! The girl (79XS650sf) may rise again. Anyone who can help I'd owe big time.

Have spark. 1979 xs650sf. Used brand new wire harness for wrong xs650 from mikesxs. (for a :wtf:79xs650f) Put an inline fuse in. When starting with starter, bike will start then blow a fuse. When kick starting, will blow a fuse immediately.(30amp) I don't want to give you the Encyclopedia...
Kept blowing fuse trying to start motor. Found a blue wire in heatshrink that was blue. The harness come out of the motor on the chain side. I had grounded the wire accidently. It is the same color as the blue wires terminating to the odometer and speedometer. Any ideas? Cannot find in wiring...
I found off of the motor a wiring harness that had a single wire in heat shrink (black) the actual color of the wire was blue, the same color as the tach and speedo light. Not sure where this would terminate? any ideas.
Found out it was the first guy who had the timing off by 90 degrees.
Now have this electrical deal going on. I must have screwed something up in the headlamp area. When I try to kick start it, it will blow the fuse leaving the hot wire (red) very hot. She's one of the best looking P.O.S.'s for...
