    Custom brake rotors?

Does anyone know a company or outfit that machines custom brake rotors? I am mixing and matching forks to front wheel.

    new yamaha models

Looks good but I wonder what happens when it hits a pothole. Up here in Boston, some of the potholes reach all the way to China.

Still looking for xs400 forks that take drum brakes if anyone has any, or a lead I could follow up on......

Ok, I've established that the front brake drum is indeed off an xs400, so I'm going shopping for some xs400 forks and triple trees. I reckon I'll have to machine new triple tree clamps to keep xs400 proportion but use the xs650 stem, which is similar to what I had to do for my virago project.

I suppose I could have spacers made, but the width of the forks compared to the tires is just too much, aesthetically speaking. I would rather find the correct forks/triple tree, and make it that way.

The hub (front brake drum) does not fit correctly between the forks of the xs650- the forks are spaced too wide by a good margin. I am going to try to figure out if that axle shaft comes from an xs400 before I do anything else.

Gary, I will reach out to him. I just want to make sure that axle shaft does come from an xs400.

    Resisting Temptation

My dad is a retired orthopedic surgeon who hated the no-helmet law that they have in some states. The problem, he said, wasn't that riders died. If you died, no problem, that was your choice, your decision. But if you somehow survived, you are going to bankrupt yourself, your family, and more...

Hi Gary, That's what I was thinking- I'm going to swap in a whole, early 70's front end which would solve a host of issues, including having to account for the slot on the brake drum. The issue is, front end from which type of bike? Right now I'm leaning towards xs400, but have no way of...
