Same speedo issue. On mikes and a lot of the pictures of new speedos/tachs show them with a cable. Does anyone know if they come with a cable? If so that's probably a better investment since I want to replace my gauges anyways.

Using this forum (and a lot of other sites, but mainly this) I have been able to do so much work on my XS. I'm a brand new gearhead and I'm falling in love with it already. So for those of you who are new(er) than me let me just break down what I have learned thanks to so many of these guys...

The only question that is left unanswered for me. I don't really have the cash to find a new MC (I'm swapping to drag bars, chrome). Is there a loophole/way to level it out?

I already ordered my switch though so hopefully it works out! I found one on ebay with a good customer satisfaction. I figure if it doesn't fit nice and easy it might just be an opportunity to move my switch or hide a toggle.

The only problem I'm having is that somebody took a screwdriver to my OEM switch.:wtf: I just want to make sure before I order this (#12-0057) that there isn't something out there that my money would be better spent on.:shrug: Other than that she's running great!

I'm trying to find some help on purchasing a new ignition switch from Mikesxs. It's supposedly the correct switch, but when I cross referenced the OEM part # I ran across a question on this site about extra wiring in the new switch? Nobody ever answered the guy so I'm left wondering... I guess...

Nobody ever helped with this? I am buying a new switch today and this is the same one I am considering. Did it ever work out?

Figured it out. It was some bad gas with rust in it that I was getting from work. I pulled everything apart and cleaned the carbs thoroughly, along with the petcock, drained the tank and got new fuel line. She's running great now! Thanks for all the tips though. I'll definitely use this as a...
