Front wobble at speed in curves only

Finally resolved this problem. It continued even after I repeatedly fine tuned the steering bearings. After awhile I noticed the cupping on my rear tire, got it changed & presto - no more steering wobble. I think the feeling that the bars were looser when turning to one side was likely in my...

Front wobble at speed in curves only

Thanks for the additional tips and advice. I will start with the front end. I had already installed the tapered bearings but now suspect they're not seated correctly. I'll skip the brace for now. Is it possible to damage the tapered bearings by over-tightening? Should I replace completely with...

Front wobble at speed in curves only

Quick update - I found that with the tightened-up stearing bearings, the handlebars and front end would fall very easily towards the right but not towards the left. I loosened it up and set it at spot where it falls more easily towards the left (its still looser towards the right). After...

Front wobble at speed in curves only

Hi guys, thanks for all the feedback. -The wobble definitely seems worse when turning and leaning to the right -I didn't due the headrace adjustment perfectly since I was too lazy to unhook all the controls to get the wiring and stuff out of the way, so I just "reefed em up a bit". Could be...

Front wobble at speed in curves only

Hi all, I know there are some threads on front end wobbles, but it can't hurt to ask again. My bike tracks straight with hands off the bars and does not wobble (as much as I can tell) at speed (~80mph) in a straight line. However, if I'm heading through a long curve at speed (50+ mph) and...

    Headlight not working, voltage OK

Thanks for the tips guys. Brassneck: Yes, I actually have 12V going to the socket but no light. The socket may not be getting enough current, as XSLeo suggested (Thanks Leo). To test this, I connected the high beam from the socket to a brown wire, started the bike and the light turned...

    Headlight not working, voltage OK

Hi everyone, Looking for some pointers - my headlight will not turn on. I checked the voltages: 12V at the green with 0V on yellow on low beam, 12V on the yellow and 1V on green with high beam, and the ground is good (about zero ohms between ground plug and frame). I put in a new bulb and...

rearsets: get kickstarter to clear without bending

I think the mids have fewer issues with kickstart clearance, so you should be good there. But yes, the xs750 and rd400 brake pedals should work if you need to modify one, and look much better imho. Best of luck

rearsets: get kickstarter to clear without bending

Old story, new thread. The kickstarter does not clear the rearset pegs. There are some older threads on this topic too: http://64.64.0.158/forum/showthread.php?t=18544 but I thought this was different enough for a new one. Anyway, I have the old school speed rearsets but did not want to...
