My first official bike was a 1975 XS650 in 2002. A former student gave it to me. He couldn't solve its charging problems, and he had been the recipient of a Honda v45 gift. I kept the bike thinking I would restore it while also dabbling with some UJM Suzukis and Hondas, but sold it in 2008. I recently sold my last UJM (1981 Suzuki GS1000L) and I'm ready to return to my roots and make my own Yamaha XS650 Scrambler.
