    Do you guys think it’s probable for a broken cushion spring to transfer from the clutch side of the case into the crankcase? I’m going to pull the clutch basket off tomorrow and see if anything’s broken and I totally agree it does look like one.

    I did remove the clutch springs to inspect, but I reinstalled them after I didn’t find anything

    I checked all the clutch springs and they’re intact. I also checked the valve springs as well and they were fine too. which after I thought about it, a valve spring would be Impossible to find in the crankcase because there is no feasible way for it to make it from the top of the head, through...

    It was actually in the crank case. When I pulled the drain plug, it was sitting on the magnet. This has me baffled. There I a guy on one of the Facebook xs 650 groups that ironically found the same exact thing, but no one has come up with a good solution. I’ve never torn one of these motors...
