Should I loosen and retorque or simply tighten to spec from their current resting place? So I didn't have any oil leaking like this prior to messing with my carbs and trying to get the mixture right. Is it possible I damaged the engine? There were a few time where it revved REALLY high and I got...

So when it's leaking up top and down below it's basically time for a rebuild yes?

Can I do the dead cylinder method on linked carbs? I have a nice 1200 idle, no popping on deceleration, but I'm blasting white smoke every time I hit the throttle.

Got that timing down and was able to ride around for a bit. I did notice when I let go of the throttle the rpms kinda hover for a second and go back down slowly. All in all I just need to order a new seat, the old one was THRASHED on the inside, and a few cuts on the vinyl. The seat pan had...

Hey Angus sorry to go MIA like I did. We are actually getting ready to move across the bridge to Port Orchard. House stuff got pushed over bike stuff in terms of priority. I have a question about ignition timing. (Surprise surprise). Is it necessary to clamp the advance mechanism in place...

I grew up near the bottom of Proctor Street Bridge. Right now we're between 6th Ave and Cheney Stadium. I wouldn't mind a 2nd pair of eyes or hands to help get this thing off the ground lol. I got the forks off today to put new seals on as they were leaking so bad I had a little puddle after...

I think I attached this image correctly, using a new phone.. Am I missing a spacer of some kind between the end of the fork and the cap of the fork beneath the axle? There's a gap on each side. All the schematics I've looked at don't show anything missing though.

Is there a way to synch the carbs without the air barb carb holders? Is it worth the 50~ bucks to get http://www.mikesxs.net/product/48-7479.html to replace the original holders then do the tube/liquid method?

Cool idea Gary. I got the bike rolling for the first time since '92, according to the old tabs on it anyway. Took it around the block twice and it sounds nice. I noticed after doing the brakes the lever is super firm to pull, with hardly any wiggle room. Will it loosen over time or would...

Anyone have solutions for replacement brackets that hold the brake line from master cylinder to caliper? I think there's supposed to be two that help lead the line down the forks.

@Airwolfie That is an incredible resource, thank you for sharing that. It is far more detailed than my manual. Makes me want to bring a pc out to the garage for quick access, the iPad will do though! @5twins Thank you for the swift reply. Would using the side panels along with these pods...

Hello again forum goers! So I clearly don't have the bike on the road yet, I'm at some very basic humps I'm having difficulty getting over. First off, pod filters. I ordered some last summer and they were way too long for the bike, my fault for not reading or at the very least measuring...

So I have a very basic question, how are the brake pads held into the caliper? I got new ones.. With tabs on them (different from what I pulled off).. but they sit totally loose in the caliper. I thought I read somewhere on here that the pads rest against the rotor permanently and that's just...
