    Painting Tins. No really...

If you’re using actual bondo, I find evercoat to be a much better product. It costs more, buts it much better to play with. I use it everyday.

That’s pretty awesome. Based off the chrome headlight ears and no fork gators… 70. Very cool he still has it. I feel there are very few things left that are made today that are worth keeping 50+ years.

First shop - $375 to bore both cylinders! Second shop $270 - still ouch! Unless I’m shipping that’s all I got for options. Went with second shop. Pistons are on order. Cruzininage said it should be a few days. Machine shop quoted 3 day turn around. In the meantime, tank is soaking in...

    XS2 Rev counter ‘Cracked dial’

I do not believe plates are available. Best best is probably glue back together. (Little strip of 2oz fiberglass on the back for support) sand the front flat and put on a decal which are available. Check the mailman restoration thread. He covers the speedo dissection and refacing. You may...

He could be like me… I park out in the back cause it always has parking and it lets me pack in a few extra steps in my day.

I am too. I was a bit hesitant with the purchase due to the failing liner but I did get a good amount knocked off the price we negotiated over the phone because that was not disclosed.

Quite successful with the acetone soak. Left it over night and it took off about 99% of it. The discoloration is just normally what the tank looks like. But it’s all clear of liner. I filled it back up for another soak tonight to get the rest. I found this in the book of paperwork...

    Speaking of First Ride

All your observations are bang on! I’m 6’2 and 200lbs. Mine had a cup holder that was installed on the left side of the drivers seat that I thought was an anti theft device because I smashed my knee on it every time I got in the jeep. The fact you kinda sit in a bucket with your feet below...

My manual claims 110 top speed, I don’t think I’ll test it. Seems a small bike to be goin that fast on. I am looking forward to the sixth gear though!

That’s pretty cool. I’ve been toying with the idea, since the barrels are off, might do a little port work and maybe run some chambers. I’ve been reading that rd400 chambers work well, just gotta cut and weld the flanges from the t350 on. Not too hard.

Yes a smaller 500t so to speak, but I’ve read they are more aggressively tuned And they sport a 6 speed transmission. As for the shop, man is it a dream to have a real space to work in. I’ve had little half garages, side yards, old horse stalls and little sheds… time for a change. It’s...
