    Vape ignitions.

Thanks, I bought about 20 of the B8ES plugs when I heard they were discontinued. My 68 Triumph, 70 XS1, 71 XS1b, 72 Honda CB350 and 72 XS2 all take the same plug!

    Vape ignitions.

I just installed the vape ignition/charging system in my XS1b, it doesn't mention if the spark plug gap should remain the same or widen for electronic ignition. I'm guessing the B8ES plugs are still ok to run as well? It started first kick by the way with the stock plug gap.

    Electronic ignition

I connected the yellow wires from the coils to the yellow and blue ones from the rawhide harness, then black to black. It worked for me, but I do recall the instructions being wrong as far as left and right coil wires. I think I had to switch the blue and yellow to opposite coils. It could have...

    Electronic ignition

It's pretty easy, the blue wire from the rawhide system goes to the right coil Negative side, the yellow to the left coil negative side. connect the black wire from the rawhide female pigtail to the power from your ignition switch, and use the black male connector and connect it to both positive...

    73 rim on XS2?

Hi, so here we go. A few years ago I bought a basket case XS2. It literally came in boxes. The seller had said that the front rim had been bent in an accident and he had included a replacement as well as the original disc that was on the bike. Well the original disc is the floating type and the...

    Electronic ignition

I don't have any good pictures, but I unplugged the points harness AND the condenser wires from the 3 way connector coming from the harness. On my bike they were orange and gray I believe. Plugged the blue and yellow wires from the rawhide into those empty connectors. I think I got them...

    Electronic ignition

Ok, so here is where my install of the rawhide system was tricky. I bought mine directly from rawhide cycles. As you can see, there are 3 wires coming from the pickups. Now look at the same system from lowbrow customs. There is a female pigtail which you need for connecting power to both...

    Electronic ignition

I just installed the rawhide on my XS1, the instructions are pretty vague, but not so much that you can't figure it out. The reason I bought the rawhide ignition is because it uses the same sensors that Charlie's place uses on their electronic ignition systems. I have one of theirs in my CB350...

Mikuni carbs with dual throttle cables?

Awesome, I just ordered a set from Gary Hoos

Mikuni carbs with dual throttle cables?

To those of you who have installed mikuni carbs on the older bikes with the dual throttle cables, how did you do it? All the kits I see have 2-1 cables for the single throttle pull. I'm assuming the stock cables won't work with the mikuni carbs. Is there anyone who makes them for this...

    XS1 Harness Ground? Location

Ahhh, OK. looks like I need to grind some powder coating off. The bike came with aftermarket coils held on with large hose clamps. They had bent the coil bracket around the frame. I was able to use a donor frame to replace the bracket. Almost 3 years and the bike should be ready this spring.

    XS1 Harness Ground? Location

On an XS1, Where did this split wire connector originally mount? It is with the group of wires around the coil area. I see it on my original harness too, but since the bike was a disaster when I got it, I don't recall where or if it was even attached. Thank you.

XS1 front fork trim ring parts recreated.

Ever since I found a beaten and battered XS1 I have been scrounging parts to restore it. It had the wrong front end on it and while I found forks, fender, trees, etc., I had not been able to find the one year, one model only reflector trim rings that go on top of the gaiters. After some...

    XS1, oil cooler removal

Ouch, there's some damage right there. It's going to be interesting to see what piston/connecting rod configuration this engine has. While it has the original lower end, The jugs and head are from a later model. I have an XS1B engine that I have to check out and see if the head/cylinders are...

    XS1, oil cooler removal

Today was a good day for me to start taking the XS1 apart. Getting ready to take the engine out soon. So somewhere in the past an oil cooler was added, and unfortunately they welded bungs to the numbers matching case for fittings. I want to eliminate the cooler fittings, and I'm going to assume...
